About Us

Our Background....

We bought two ewe lambs and began showing in JR Market Lamb shows in Georgia in 2000. We joined the Georgia Club Lamb Producers Association and raised our first lambs in 2001. That first year we were fortunate enough to breed four ewe lambs to “Stretch” a Larry Shell buck of Robert Stewart’s that had produced many champions. With the support of Robert, Henry Hibbs, Mark McCann, and others we learned about raising, feeding, and showing lambs. For our first several years, our best lambs were from a Ricky Josey ewe named “LADY” crossed back on Stewart and McCann’s. With early success from Lady and her ewe lambs our girls soon changed our name from Odom Club Lambs to “LADY LUCK CLUB LAMBS”. We have used that name up until this time and will now go back to Odom Club Lambs.

2010 will be our first year to sell all of our show lambs. We have always used the best show lambs from the flock for Christine and Camille to show. Even with them getting “the pick of the litter” we have had many customers with champions and perform better than us at the same shows we attended. Since Christine and Camille have both graduated the 2010 lambs will be looking for homes with good feeders and exhibitors. We look forward to working with your family to help you to have the success that Christine and Camille have had. We know that there is a lot more to winning than buying a good lamb. This is why our family has strived to excel in showmanship, training, feeding, and fitting.

By having great partners like Robert Stewart, Mark McCann, Fred Rayfield, Henry Hibbs, Ben Porter, and Pete Wall to share the cost of superior bucks from all over the nation, we have improved our genetics with line breeding as well as out crossing. We manage the flock in a progressive manner and always strive to improve.

Our Genetics...

We now have genetics form many of the nation’s top producers. We have rams and ewes and their offspring from the flocks of: Larry Shell / Guy Glasscock, Keith Berry, Frank Poling, Clay Elliot / Mark Overman, Mark McCann, Bruce Achor, Heidi & Alan Thorson, Logan MacLennan, Adam Clark, Dave Whitaker, Ted Greiner, and Brad & Jeff Ellerbrock. We have also bought breeding stock that is one generation away from these other great breeders Mike Hancock, Joe Cabaniss, Jim Miller, Tony Winfrey, John Shroyer, Bob & Ben Marcantel, Barb Banbury, Brian & Darrell Skidgel, Ernie Tannerhill, Brian Johnson, and Shane Wilson.

Currently...

We have continued to piece together genetics that produce the phenotype that is wanted in the show ring today while still being ewes that will breed on time, flesh easily, have twins unassisted, and wean healthy lambs. 2009 was the most consistent year for our customers and our own show lambs. Our lambs by CORRECT CHANGE exceeded our expectations. CORRECT CHANGE was bred by Frank Poling by his TANK ram that is LEVERAGE X COMPOSURE from Bruce Achor. We are still getting the information from our buyers, but 13 lambs were shown this year and 9 different lambs won Division Champion, Reserve Champion and/or Grand Champion. Several of our customers have never done this well with any lamb in their career. We took 5 CORRECT CHANGE lambs to NAILE in Louisville and 3 were placed in classes under the judge Kyle Smithwick. We have high expectations for his daughters bred back to our MO buck which is an ADVANTAGE son from Mark Overman. MO is also a double bred TRADEMARK by LEVERAGE and COMPOSURE.
